Latest Updates from Our Project:

Survey built
over 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 06, 2021 at 07:34:42 AM

Just a brief update here. I *think* I've completed the survey. It is now being reviewed by Backerkit and as soon as Kickstarter clears the funds, then we should be good to launch the survey. That should happen very soon (this week, I think).

A couple words on the survey. I'm not sure if backerkit changed some things, or if I just didn't remember how I set up previous surveys, but when you log in, you are going to see a question that says something like, "your pledge will be carried over to the shopping cart".  You'll go straight to the shopping cart and get to choose your rewards along with any add-ons you may want. If you pledged at a tier where you get a discount, that will be reflected in your survey. Shipping fees have been discounted $2 in the USA and $5 internationally, BUT there is a per item shipping fee added on based on size/weight (small items are $1/$2 dom/int, cases are $2/$5)

If you choose an inlay option, there will be a question at the end asking you to choose a contrast wood for the inlay. If you have chosen a light colored case (maple, cherry, cedar, zebrawood), you are going to want a dark colored inlay (walnut, purpleheart, wenge) and vice-versa. Many examples can be seen on the project page; a gif cycles through most combinations for each wood type. If you need help in choosing, please contact me.

Lastly, if you have friends who want on board, please give them this link: https://rogue-reborn-hardwood-cases-for-superior-heroes.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

They won't get priority in filling the orders, but still should receive cases in Feb/March if they preorder before Christmas. That link may not be active until the end of the week.

Thanks again,

John

Final day!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Sep 23, 2021 at 07:33:29 AM

Just a few book keeping details as we enter our final 12 hours.

Stretch Goal Unlocks!

So, because you all have been great in participation and helping get enthusiasm going, I'm unlocking ALL the stretch goals. This means:

  • All foam options are available
  • All the images in the stretch goal section are unlocked
  • Custom images/designs can be added on for $20 (you need to provide image)
  • Antique brass feet are available for $5

I want to thank everyone for pledging and for participating so much in the comments section.  Projects are always so much better when there is input from the backers.

Last chance to get your friends on board.

As always, I'm hoping you'll share this project on social media, with your friends, with anyone you think will be interested. Are you in any Facebook groups? Post the project there! Who knows who will be interested. It only takes a second and it is such a huge help. Please use this link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hrothgarshoard/rogue-reborn-hardwood-cases-for-superior-heroes?ref=3fb6i8

What is next?

Here is the current timeline:

  • Kickstarter will charge your cards and give everyone about 2 weeks to clear up any card issues
  • I will build the Backerkit survey and send it out after the Kickstarter funds are released.
  • You will have at least 2 weeks (probably more) to fill out the Backerkit survey, make your choices, and add on anything else you want to your pledge.
  • Beginning November 1, I will begin making and fulfilling surveys that have been completed.
  • The plan is to have everything out by Christmas
  • *disclaimer: I do have 4 more conventions this fall, plus this is the Christmas season, so THE PLAN may not meet reality. But I do intend to give the project priority. But bottom line is that the sooner you fill out the survey, the sooner I can get things out to you.

That is the plan right now. I will be at Origins, Indiana Comic Con, and Game Hole this fall (plus a local show in December). If you happen to be at any of those shows, come visit me, give me a loud BREE-YARK in your best goblin, and get a free Dice Devil's Trap with any purchase at a show.

Let's finish strong!

Goal Hit!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Sep 18, 2021 at 05:02:50 AM

I'm still banging away at Gen Con, so I just noticed this morning that we hit the $4K goal. Good Job everyone!

For $5K, we'll do a feet add-on for only $5. I wish I had some pictures with me so you can see what they are, but once we hit $5K, I'll give the option of adding brass feet to the bottom of the cases at my cost ($5).

We are really close to the comments unlock as well, so keep making comments. At 100, I'll unlock another image for engraving.

I'm checking into some final week advertising right now, so I still have hope that we'll break the 10K barrier. Keep spreading the word.

New Inlay example
over 2 years ago – Mon, Sep 13, 2021 at 10:36:49 AM

I just wanted to post a pic of the new inlay option before I left for Gen Con. This is a Cedar/Wenge combination in a Dice Scabbard. The Dice Scabbard is approximately 1/2 the size of the Rogue Reborn. I did the smaller case because I figured if I could do the smaller case, the bigger one would be easy :-)

Overall, I like it. Make some comments and let me know what you think.

Getting ready for Gen Con
over 2 years ago – Sun, Sep 12, 2021 at 09:58:40 AM

This coming week is Gen Con and I'll be there in booth 2511. If you are going to be there, be sure to stop by my booth. I'll take some of the prototype cases with me to show off and hopefully drum up some interest for the project there.

Lets keep the comments coming so we can unlock some more images, and once again, share, share, share. I'm running some ads this week, but nothing can beat word of mouth.

I'll stay in touch while at Gen Con, so if you have any questions, please be sure to ask.

Thanks for backing!
